About the National Orange Show

In 1911, the National Orange Show as born as a citrus exhibit where growers gather to display their choicest fruits. It was launched with the purpose of being an asset to the California citrus fruit industry and its community.

Today, the National Orange Show Event Center has evolved into a full service event center that spans over 120 acres and offers 150,000 square feet of indoor exhibit space, a quarter mile speedway, state-of-the-art satellite wagering center, and can accommodate more than 40,000 attendees and park approximately 8,000 cars.

The center continues to carry out its mission to promote and preserve the citrus industry; manage and operate year-round recreational and cultural facilities to attract special events focusing on education and family entertainment; and support the community through charitable programs, scholarships, and active community involvement.

The National Orange Show Event Center is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of valued career professionals in our community. They graciously donate their time to continue to aid in making the National Orange Show Fairgrounds a successful, safe and welcoming environment. We thank them for their continued dedication.

Citrus Institute

A permanent feature of the Orange Show since 1919, the National Citrus Institute is designed to educate local citrus growers on the industry’s latest information, innovations, and updates. In the past, the institute has been an invitation-only conference for citrus growers in Southern California, however, due to the serious threat to all citrus imposed by Asian Citrus Psyllid, the conference audience has been expanded to include any party interested in citrus, including homeowners.

Citrus meetings will be held throughout the year for the community.

The program is currently developed by:

  • University of California Cooperative Extension – Riverside County
  • The Citrus Research Board
  • California Citrus Mutual
  • University of California, Riverside
  • The National Orange Show
  • University of California Cooperative Extension – San Diego County
